breakfast laughter

woke from sleeping
youngest leading
morning greeting
coffee’s beeping
mouths need feeding
family seating
smiles are leaping
laughter seeping
joy in heaping
hands are sweeping
clock is creaping
times like these
are fast and fleeting

  1. Jeff this was awesome. I really needed a smile today and you’ve given me one.
I can imagine your house being filled with love and laughter. This emulates that well.

So many of your poems have such great rhythms and this one is no exception.
    Super.

  3. You’re both too kind. I’ve decided I need to force myself to write more.

  4. Words worth keeping,
    thoughts for reaping,
    no one weeping.

    Good post.

  5. Well said!

Time is fleeting indeed, and you’ve captured a moment with wonderful style.

  6. Time is fleeting! I so enjoy those moments of laughter with my hubby and children. Thanks for this.
